At Hofwijck, the life of Constantijn Huygens (1596–1687) comes into focus: diplomat, poet, musician, and architect. He designed this country estate as a harmonious retreat from the bustle of The Hague. His son, the world-renowned scientist Christiaan Huygens, also lived and worked here. The beautifully preserved house and gardens offer a unique glimpse into a world where art, nature, and science came together.
