The Temple is a notable national monument from 1914, designed by architect F.A. Bodde. This historic building, originally constructed for the Hague Commission Bank, features beautiful marble floors, stained glass windows, and a unique vault in the basement. After serving various purposes, including a home and a nightclub, it has housed the Archaeology Department of the Municipality of The Hague since 2010.
Here, archaeological finds are conserved, restored, and stored. In addition to office spaces, there is a presentation room for classes and lectures, and a restoration workshop on the ground floor. The building is open to the public during open days and special occasions, which can be found on their website.
