Art by Telephone

One of the records held by the RKD is a recording of 38 artists each describing their idea for an artwork in a telephone call to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in 1969. The ideas were subsequently executed by staff at the museum, resulting in temporary interactive artworks based on concepts by well-known artists such as Jan Dibbets, Wolf Vostell and John Baldessari.

You are likewise invited to interact with the gramophone recordings: with the help of artist Sarina Missot, you can render their own creation with different drawing and painting techniques.
