“I read this book as a child and it has always stayed with me.
The children cut off their index finger, killed a dog and burned a boy at the sawmill.
All to find and prove significance.
They gave everything to the heap of meaning. All these unanswered questions.
To be remembered and forgotten, to become organic matter.
It might be better to be sitting in nothing than in something that isn’t anything at all..
And for a second everything was quiet.”
